My Architecture Story

My first experience with architecture was running blueprints during summer vacations in high school for my friend's father who was principal of an architecture firm in Visalia, California where I grew up.
I studied drafting and completed the Pre-Architecture program at College of the Sequoias but chose to study Art and painting at UC Santa Cruz.
My journey toward becoming a licensed architect was circuitous to say the least. I designed and sold kitchen and bath cabinets in Monterey, worked in construction, honed my CAD skills doing mechanical layouts for a radiant floor heating company and ultimately apprenticed as a draftsman at a small firm in Santa Cruz for well over a decade. While years of experience obtaining permits for construction have always kept me busy, my career has flourished more recently with the design of more complex commercial and residential projects.
